Danish Youth Camp in Chocen, Czech Republic Photos
Danish Softball and Baseball Federation with help of ESF Development Commission and EDF has organized softball camp for youth in Czech Republic. Camp was held in the small town Chocen (known from previous European Championships of Junior Girls, Boys and Men), north-east from Prague. The event was organized in an Easter week, from Sunday, April 8 untill Wednesday, April 12.
Coaches brought 55 young players able to form 4 teams: Boys 15-under begginers, boys 15-under intermediate, boys 18-under and girls 18-under. Camp was well organized, smooth running without any major problem, eventhough the wheather was not the best in this time of the year. Finally, thank to enthusiasm of the players, coaches, local teams and also host club, who allow us to play the games in rain with an danger of damagging their field, all the games and practices were done with an exception of Tuesday afternoon. The field was already very bad and we had to cancel two games.
The daily schema was simple: Coaches organized practice and learning sessions during the mornings and early afternoons, the games against several Czech teams were playd in the afternoons and evenings (The venue has lights).
The camp was nice and succesfull. I wish to thank Mr Mortensen, head of the Danish group, Mr Becicka, representative of the local club Orlice Chocen and 6 following teams for coming and playing the games agaist the danish teams:
Orlice Chocen (Junior girls),
Tigers Kostelec (Cadet Boys),
Klackari Kostelec (Junior Boys),
Hrosi Havlickuv Brod (Junior Boys and Cadet Boys),
Delta Pardubice (Cadet Boys)
