Some
background on Higher Ground and their Instructors
Higher Ground is an international leader in softball instructional services and products. The organization has a reputation for delivering instruction in a manner that allows YOU to Get Better Every Day. The camp staff will include a highly qualified international staff directed by Bobby Simpson (Founder of Higher Ground; former Head Coach of British National Team (Gold Medal winners of 2004 Greek Olympic Test Event in Athens), & former assistant coach for Dutch National Team and Greek National Team; has personally conducted softball activities in 12 nations; author of two softball books and producer/instructor for over 50 softball instructional videos/DVD’s.
The International Softball
Federation, International Sports Group, the United States Air Force, and
many international federations have all used Higher Ground services. Higher
Ground has conducted activities in Argentina, Austria, Azores, Canada, China,
Cuba, Czech Republic, England, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands,
Norway, Panama, Puerto Rico, Scotland, Slovakia, Sweden, U.S. Virgin Islands,
and throughout the USA. In addition, Sports Illustrated for Women
recognized Higher Ground as the top softball camp program in America.
Information about the clinic: The clinic will provide information and drills that allow each player to improve mentally, visually, and physically. The sessions will be constructed for any level player who attends and feature Higher Ground’s innovative U-PICK sessions, where the player is allowed to select the topic she attends. This will allow you to receive the most appropriate instruction that meets your personal needs. The camp Reality Based Training will be designed to allow you to transfer skills from the practice field to games, by emphasizing drills that allow you to play better when it really makes a difference.
Day one: The first day is dedicated to defensive skills and drills. Players will improve in both individual and team defense. You will have an opportunity to improve positional play (pitching, catching, infield, outfield), throwing, small group defense, and team defense.
Day two: The second day is dedicated to offense. You will improve your personal ability to impact your team’s run production by improving skills related to hitting, bunting, and baserunning. You’ll also learn team offense techniques so that your team scores more runs and wins more games.
Cost: One day = £40 and Two day’s = £70 per player. Included is a free Higher Ground T-shirt and certificate of attendance.

Something more: The UK Grass Roots Fastpitch Programme with our holding
association BSUK (BaseballSoftballUK) will be holding our
first UK junior international tournament a day later. This
tournament takes place on the 25th and 26th of July at the same
venue. Any teams travelling from abroad has a day of rest
to site see London on the 24th of July. Please see our website
