Four teams have participated on Belgrade Trophy, international softball women´s tournament organized in Serbia for the second time. Teams were: Serbia, Bulgaria, Princ Zagreb (Croatia) and Golovec Dragons.

Tournament organized by Serbian Softball Federation and Belgrade Softball Federation was played on June 24-25 in Sport and Recreation Centre Ada Cinganlija. The level of play was quite good despite very hot wheather (around 35 degrees Celsius), Dragons took finally the trophy by winning the final game 7:1 over Prince Zagreb. Bulgaria was third and host team Serbia finished fourth.

There were several guest coming to the tournament: Mr Bob Milosavjevic - ESF Vice-president, Mr Pero Cizmic – President of Croatian Softball Association, Mr Pavel Prachar – European Development Facilitator. They brought some softball equipment and promotional stuff and discussed several possibilities how to help Serbian and regional softball development, such as national team program for next years European Championship in Zagreb, helping with school program in Serbia, helping to organize regional „championship“ – Balcan Cup, help to start mens program etc.

Tournament was also attended by officials from Serbian Olympic Committe and Serbian Sports Organization, as well as by Serbian TV who showed some highlights in their program on saturday evening.  

Many thanks to Mr Dejan Jesic, Secretary General of Serbian Softball Federation, who put everything togethern and was a great host to all teams and guests !
